On the heels of the launch of the Sikh Center of Virginia, the Northern Virginia area now has another gurudwara and it's headed by Giani Kuldip Singh.
The new gurudwara is called Sikh Sangat of Virginia and congregants meet twice a week for worship services conducted by Giani Kuldip Singh.
The gurudwara is in a makeshift location: Sangster Elementary School, 7420 Reservation Drive, Springfield, Virginia.

 Dozens
attended the first-ever Sikh Center of Virginia annual picnic held on
May 23, 2009 at Bull Run Park in Manassas, Virginia.
There
was plenty of food and beverages and some great tandoori chicken. Kids
of all ages participated in games ranging from tug of war to volleyball.
A great time was had by all.

The Sikh Center of Virginia, a few months in the making, took a step toward permanence and making things more stable, by naming the first-ever full time granthi for the Gurudwara.
Bhai Bhupinder Singh Paras, a widely known granthi who most recently served as head priest of a gurudwara in Houston, took over the official duties as head priest of SCV at the regularly scheduled weekly diwan on Wednesday, May 20, 2009.

The much-publicized visit to the Washington area by renowned Prof. Darshan Singh Ragi, who was to perform at a private event organized by Giani Kuldip Singh, failed to materialize this past Sunday.
The visit , highly publicized on local TV, national newspapers, as well as through an aggressive marketing campaign at local gurdwaras was canceled, much to the reported chagrin of Giani Kuldip Singh, by the Canada-based Prof. Ragi.

The first Sikh to perform kirtan and win a national Indian honor is coming to the area.
Padma Shri Bhai Nirmal Singh ji Khalsa will be appearing Kirtan on Thursday April 30, 2009 at 7:30 pm at Sikh Foundation of Virginia.
